COVID-19 UPDATE/RESPONSE FROM AGAPE FLIGHTS & FLIGHT SCHEDULE:

Oh how we are missing members of our Agape family! We have asked that all volunteers remain at home for now and the doors to the office remain locked to prevent outside visitors from entering. Our staff is coming to the office, and some are working from home as able, but altogether filling many shoes right now in order to keep a supply line to our missionaries. Between 30 and 60 volunteers each week provide much of the labor that makes things happen at Agape Flights. Each year, volunteers provide over 10,000 hours of labor in areas such as mail sorting, shopping, cargo preparation, reception, filing, maintenance and construction. We are so very thankful for them and miss them dearly!

Today, as we prepare for tomorrow’s mission flight, staff is all hands on deck doing whatever it takes to make sure the missionaries get the supplies they need. In doing so, safety and sanitation measures are being taken. One of those measures being that incoming mail and cargo is held for 24 hours before handling, and then only with gloves after that. If anyone has any symptoms they are to remain at home.

This week the plan is a Thursday 3/26 flight to all Haiti locations, followed by a cargo drop in Eleuthera, Bahamas. Currently, we are unable to fly into the Dominican Republic due to their restrictions. We are communicating daily with missionary affiliates, customs and border patrol, Haitian officials, the State Department, our senators, Congressman Steube, and the Governor’s office to see if there is anything that we need to adjust along the way.

Please pray for Agape Flights and the missionaries we serve! This is a disaster unlike a hurricane or an earthquake. This virus is invisible and attacks unseen. But even greater is the enemy of fear that joins forces with this virus. But God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of sound mind and sound doctrine. God is still on the throne, and He has called us to be faithful even during these times. With all that is within us we will not run away and hide, but we will remain vigilant and confident that God called us to do a work of ministry and if He has called He will complete that work despite those challenges that may come.

We certainly hope and pray that you all are doing well….we love you!

Agape Flights received word that Haiti has declared a state of emergency over the coronavirus and is closing all ports, airports and borders at midnight tonight (12:00AM Friday). Our plans were to make a Les Cayes day flight Friday morning however, we are forced to cancel the flight until Haiti reopens its airports and permits Agape to deliver cargo.

We are covering the CoronaVirus global challenge in prayer and hope to resume flights as soon as possible.
