“A Pilot’s View” | Saturday, March 4, 2023
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC BETWEEN 11:30 – 2:00 AT THE AGAPE FLIGHTS HANGAR
VISIT THE OFFICIAL EVENT PAGE
What do airplanes, pizza pies, and dessert pies have in common? Every first-Saturday-in-March, they’re all in ample supply at the annual Agape Flights open hangar, Pie in the Sky. People throughout the community are invited to drop by, have some pie, tour the Agape Flights hangar, and learn more about where, how, and why we fly.
Visitors can also tour and be photographed with a gallery of special aircraft parked alongside the Agape Flights hangar. And as in past years, they’ll also be able to get up close to the Agape Flights planes. Want a seat in the Captain’s chair? No problem!
This year’s event takes on the special theme, “A Pilot’s View” and will feature the debut of a video of the same name, as well as opportunities to meet and interact with Agape’s staff and volunteer pilots. Visitors can even take the captain’s seat of a flight simulator and see if they have “the right stuff.”

“Being a pilot is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do,” says Greg Haman, Agape Flights chief pilot and director of aircraft operations, seen above adding a package to the cargo hold of an Agape aircraft. “Whether I was working on planes or flying them, it was always going to be aviation,” Haman says of his calling. Greg actually does both things, wearing another hat as Agape Flights director of maintenance.
Haman is just one of the Agape Pilots who will be on hand March 4. The rest of the Agape team will be onsite, too, to give tours and answer questions about the organization and the missionaries we serve.

Whether you’ve never been to an Agape Flights open hangar or you’ve never missed one, please save the date and join us and hundreds of your neighbors Saturday, March 4, 11:30 – 2:00 p.m., 100 Airport Avenue East, Venice, FL 34285. Parking is free and the event is free, including food. Participants will have a chance to bid on delicious dessert pies and other prizes including a coastal flight in one of Agape’s aircraft.
2023 Pie in the Sky sponsorships are still available. See the brochure here and sign-up here. Thank you!
