Agape Flights' Caravan
Crashes in the Bahamas
The
unimaginable call arrived at 5:30 PM on December 20th as the Agape
ministry staff gathered for Christmas dinner. Your
plane has crashed in the . There’s no word if anyone
survived! were the first words I heard and the only ones I remember. Immediate
calls to the Miami Control Tower, FAA, and US Customs provided no additional
information. Two hours later we learned the pilots had survived without injury.
Praise the Lord! The plane, however,
is a total loss.
We received this note from Doug
and Kim Hoffman, missionaries in Santo Domingo
…
Dear Agape office staff,
We
were shocked to hear of the news of the plane!
How we thank God for His marvelous grace and protection of the pilots!
We
were so thrilled with the way you worked to get all of our stuff here for
Christmas. Thank you so much!
It did strike our heart to think that the pilots could have sacrificed
their very lives to do so. We are
thankful that did not happen. We love and appreciate you all.
May God help you as you work through this loss.
On Thursday, December 20th Agape’s plane crashed in
the Caribbean as a result of an engine failure. The last Christmas
deliveries had been completed earlier in the day and the plane was returning
home. Rocky Miller and Paolo Costa were at the controls.
Doug and Kim speak for the
hundreds of missionaries being served by Agape. On their minds but not in the
letter are the burning questions, What
will Agape do now? Who will help us
here in the field?"
So I ask you, What should Agape do now? We
rely on God’s provision supplied by those who know us and those who recognize
the importance of the services we provide to the missionary community. That’s
you!
