A Day of Rest
Yesterday was
Sunday, the 33rd day after starting to move cargo from the
local airport to distribution centers. This process has
continued every day for 32 days. After 32 days of daily
moving food and medical supplies, there was a day of
rest. It was a strange day, waiting on the call to go to
the airport; and the call never came. Not being
sure what to do with myself, I cooked, ate, read and
rested. It was a very good day indeed. (Sent by
Agape Field Directorr, LJ Ruth)
From the field...
Ruben and
Jonathan spent a few days in the earthquake damaged Haiti this
month. Pictures of tent communities overwhelm their minds as
they recanted their journey. They spent some time with the
Christians of Port-au-Prince as they ministered in a church
service there. The testimonies of those Christians
brought a new light to their view of God's protection. Many
testified of how they were led by God to leave the buildings
they were in just a few minutes before the earthquake! They
now feel that they have a new purpose and a new vision. They
want to reach their nation for Christ more than ever. They
feel that God saved them for that very purpose. (Sent by
missionaries from the Dominican Republic visiting Haiti)
Children Rising
to the Challenge
In Green Bay,
Wisconsin, a fourth grader named Steele decided to alter his
birthday plans to help those in Haiti. This young man took it
upon himself to have a "donation" party and asked
all of his guests to make a donation to Agape Flights instead
of giving gifts! He raised $275 for Haiti relief and
inspired all of those around him. Thank you Steele!
